Swedish Massage
The Swedish massage is the most common of all. It involves soft, long, kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes, on topmost layers of muscles. This is also combined with movement of the joints. By relieving muscle tension, Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energizing.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles).1 It’s used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
Trigger Point Massage
Trigger point massages release the tightest areas of your body (often the neck and low back), helping improve range of motion, posture, and alignment. Regular sessions can help with chronic pain, which is sometimes the result of referral pain from trigger points. Sessions can also help with athletic performance.
